Wellengärtner 10: An Ambient Approach.

In March 2020 I made my first experiment with a synth (or better: Workstation) which resulted in a nice track (s. Wellengärtner 1) but also in a lot of frustation about that device. I was lucky to get rid of it soon and was fed up with the topic for a while.

In September the same year, after a discussion with Jingoba Electric, I started to play around with nothing more than a few smartphone apps, a cable to the computer and 'Audacity'. That was the restart and real birth of 'Wellengärtner'. Who would have thought then that, less than a year from the restart, I can present my 10th installment of the Wellengärtner series?

Although still away from being even semi-professional, things have improved over time. Besides a certain amount of creativity and/or planning, the gear used is an essential part of creating EM.

For this album I introduced a setup which allowed me to use up to 3 timbres at the same time:
- two voices came from the 'Audiothingies MicroMonsta 2,
- one voice came from the smartphone for different noises,
- the 'Arturia KeyStep' was in charge of controlling the MM2,
- and the 'Behringer Xenyx QX1202USB' was used for bundling all up, mixing, providing additional FX and delivering the digital output to the computer.

Along with the new setup a new workflow, that I've started with 'Wellengärter 9', has been continued here: doing all tracks in one go - that is what I call 'Live in Studio'.
